1. Controller
The controller for data processing in connection with the app “Diabetes Tracker for Pets” is CCSchwarz GmbH. Full contact details are available in the imprint. For privacy questions please write to info@ccschwarz.de; support@ccschwarz.de is reserved for technical support requests.
2. Principle: nothing is transmitted to us
The app operates no server of its own. Everything you record – pet profiles, blood glucose readings, insulin doses, ketones, meals, weight, symptoms and notes – is stored and processed on your device. All analysis (average, time in range, variability, nadir and peak) is calculated locally on the device.
We do not receive this data, cannot access it and do not analyse it.
3. iCloud sync
If you have enabled iCloud for the app in your system settings, your entries are additionally stored in your private iCloud database within your own Apple account. This enables syncing across your devices and sharing with other people (section 4). That service is provided by Apple and subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Here too, we have no access to the content.
The legal basis is performance of the usage agreement and your decision to enable iCloud (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). iCloud can be switched off at any time in the system settings; the app then remains usable locally.
4. Sharing with other people
You can share a pet via iCloud sharing (CKShare) with other people, such as your partner or a pet sitter. The invitation is sent through Apple’s system dialog. Shared data is visible to the invited people to the extent agreed (read or write). The owner can end sharing at any time. Sharing does not send any data to us either.
5. Notifications
Reminders for insulin doses, feeding times and due measurements are local notifications triggered by the device itself. No push messages are sent via a server. The app asks for notification permission during setup, and you can revoke it at any time in the system settings; all other functions remain available.
6. Support requests
“Report a problem” and “Suggest a feature” open a prepared email in your own mail app. For problem reports the app attaches the following technical details:
- app name, version and build
- operating system version
- device hardware identifier (for example
iPhone15,2) - language and region setting
No health or pet data is transmitted. You see the entire text before sending and decide yourself whether and what to send. We process these details solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and delete them once the matter is closed.
7. Vet report
The PDF report is generated on your device. Whether and with whom you share it is entirely your decision – via the system share sheet or your own mail app. The app never sends anything on its own.
8. App Store and ratings
Purchase, delivery and updates of the app run through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the data arising there under its own responsibility. Apple provides us only with aggregated, non-personal statistics (such as the number of installations), from which no conclusions about individuals can be drawn.
The rating prompt is Apple’s own system dialog (StoreKit). Whether you use it is your decision; we do not learn who submitted a rating.
9. No tracking, no advertising
The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs and no profiling. No automated decision-making takes place.
10. Deletion
You delete your data yourself: deleting a pet removes all associated entries on the device and in iCloud. Deleting the app removes the local data; data held in iCloud can be deleted through the system settings of your Apple account.
11. Your rights
You have the rights of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Because we never receive the content you record in the app, we cannot provide information about it – it remains solely in your hands. For support correspondence these rights apply without restriction.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
12. Children
The app is intended for adults caring for an animal. It deliberately collects no data about the user.
